Reaction-bonded Silicon Carbide (Si-SiC)
Si-SiC plates are a composite material composed of silicon carbide in a silicon matrix. This material is characterized by zero porosity, therefore its thermal conductivity is more than twice as high compared to O-SiC. Even the bending strength is more than 5 times higher compared to O-SiC.
The maximum recommended Si-SiC temperature is 1380 °C. In addition to high strength, this material also stands out for its high resistance to oxidation, chemicals and wear. It is used as Sic beams (rods), rollers, radiant torch fittings, torch tips.
